HFC wrestler Dominic Mancina is the first Hawk to win a title at the Annual Art Kraft Memorial, where he won first place. The Art Kraft Memorial was held over the weekend and hosted by Triton College in River Grove, IL.

Mancina, a 174-pound sophomore from Allen Park, worked his way up the ranks at this memorial. He won the semifinals, beating Nic Jarvis of Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA. From there, he tested his mettle in the First Place Match against Adrian Cervantes of Joliet Junior College in Joliet, IL, winning by decision. He scored a total of 23.5 team points.

In addition to Macina, Hawk grappler Hunter Lajiness, a 125-pound sophomore from Monroe, placed 4th at the tournament.

"Dominic is the very first Hawk to win a title at the Art Kraft Memorial. That is a historical moment for the HFC wrestling program," said Coach Grant MacKenzie. "Dominic has been a leader on and off the mat. Winning this tournament will help him earn a top seed at our qualifying meet in the North Central District."
