Gov. Snyder reappoints HFC’s Aura Cazares to Campus Sexual Assault Workgroup

Aura Cazares

Gov. Rick Snyder and First Lady Sue Snyder reappointed Aura Cazares, the student conduct/compliance officer and Title IX coordinator at HFC, to the Campus Sexual Assault Workgroup. This workgroup will develop a framework of best practices for preventing campus sexual assault and develop a model to pilot regional centers to investigate reports of sexual misconduct.

Cazares has been the Title IX coordinator at HFC since October 2013. She has an undergraduate degree in business administration/marketing and a graduate degree in interdisciplinary studies/marketing and communications, both from the University of Detroit Mercy.

“I’m proud of the incredible work these individuals accomplished last year when developing a resource handbook for sexual assault survivors,” said the First Lady. “I have no doubt that this group will succeed once again in creating recommendations to help continue improving sexual assault prevention and response on our state’s campuses.”
