HFC earns Corp! Diversity Champion Award

Dr. Jensen receives Corp! diversity award

Corp! Magazine has presented Henry Ford College with the publication’s annual Diversity Champion Award. Dr. Stanley Jensen, the College’s president, accepted the honor during a luncheon held at Detroit’s International Banquet Center on Thursday, October 26.

Now in its sixth year, the accolade honors, according to Corp! Magazine, “businesses and organizations that have displayed significant achievements in diversity within their organization or in the community.”

Henry Ford College was nominated for the award by Henry Ford III, a member of the College’s advisory board. In his nomination submission, Ford noted: “The essence of the College's commitment to diversity is clearly defined in the institution's mission statement, which says: ‘Henry Ford College transforms lives and builds better futures by providing outstanding education. As a student-centered, evidence-based college, our success is measured by the success of our students. We empower learners through the development of independent, critical and creative thinking, and we foster diversity, inclusion, understanding, and acceptance to prepare learners to succeed in a global society. We anticipate and respond to the needs of our stakeholders, exceed their expectations, and serve the public good.’"

In receiving the Diversity Champion Award, Dr. Jensen said: “This award is an honor that every one of us at the College shares. It takes a dedicated team effort to ensure that diversity and inclusion compel us to be future driven, while providing students with the skills and education to succeed.”
