Henry Ford College Chorus, Blue Fusion and Renaissance Voices to Perform at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dearborn Dec. 4

HFC Chorus, Blue Fusion and Renaissance Voices will combine their talents and perform the Winter Choral Concert on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 4 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, located at 21915 Beech St. (between Oakwood and Monroe) in Dearborn.

“It’s always such a privilege to work with these talented musicians. I particularly enjoy the opportunity for them to hear each other as well as sing together,” said HFC music instructor G. Kevin Dewey.

HFC is home to one of the largest music programs with the most number of music ensembles of all two-year colleges in Michigan. The musicians in the HFC musical ensembles represent a cross-section of HFC’s student body. Music ensembles from HFC have regularly toured and performed at special events across the nation and in Europe.

In fact, the Big Band and Midnight Blue Vocal Jazz ensembles have performed at the inaugurations of both President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama. Additionally, HFC musicians have performed at the National Museum of American History for approximately 4,000 attendees.

At the beginning of 2016, HFC launched a new one-year program in Recording Arts featuring a fully functional digital recording studio. Students in the Recording Arts Certificate (RAC) program will gain hands-on experience in a fully functioning recording studio while learning the tools and vocabulary necessary to succeed in a professional recording studio. This program is suited to students who love music, like to make beats and record but who have never been in band, orchestra, or choir.

Admission for the Winter Choral Concert is $10 for adults and $7 for senior citizens and students with a valid photo ID. For further information about HFC’s Music Program or the Winter Choral Concert, contact Dewey at 313-845-6474 or kdewey@hfcc.edu. Also, visit www.hfcc.edu/music.
