Ceramics Club holds first Fall Pottery Boutique

The HFCC Ceramics Club will hold its first Fall Pottery Boutique on Thursday, Dec. 6, through Saturday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Sisson Art Gallery, located in the Grant U. MacKenzie Fine Arts Center on the main campus.

This event will showcase not only the artistic talents of current HFCC ceramics students and alumni, but select local artists as well. A large variety of everyday functional ware, artistic and unique holiday pieces made of stoneware, terracotta and porcelain will be available for purchase.

“There is something for everyone with prices ranging from only a few dollars to as much as you want to spend. It is a great opportunity for people to find unique holiday gifts for family and friends,” said Steve Glazer, HFCC instructor and head of the ceramics program.

According to Glazer, 15 percent of the proceeds will go to HFCC’s ceramics scholarship fund.

“We will have lots of inventory to choose from and hope to sell out. This is our way of giving back to the community,” said Erin Koekzema, an HFCC student and president of the Ceramics Club.

Admission and parking are free. Refreshments will be available. For further information, contact Glazer at (313) 845-6485 or sglazer@hfcc.edu
