Who is eligible for Transfer Bridges?

Any student who wants to study the humanities at HFC is eligible, provided they meet the program’s academic and curricular requirements.

Please note that this program requires a dedicated focus on completing core courses and maintaining a high GPA. Interested students should work with advisors to ensure their program of study is aligned with Transfer Bridges requirements from the beginning of their enrollment at HFC.

While students in the Henry Ford II Honors program and students earning departmental honors are encouraged to consider this program, the program is available to ALL humanities students at HFC who meet the program’s requirements.

There is no maximum number of students who are eligible to transfer in a given year.

What are the program requirements?

The program will require:

  1. English language proficiency
  2. Strong proficiency in core subjects, including math, physical sciences, social sciences, and your primary academic discipline
  3. A GPA of 3.5 or above (preferred)
  4. A desire to succeed, and to transfer to U-M Ann Arbor after completing your HFC associate degree!
  5. Fourth-term proficiency in a language other than English to earn a degree from U-M College of LS&A

Additional requirements for HFC Honors students:

  1. On-campus service and community involvement
  2. Academic and co-curricular requirements as specified by your course of study in the Henry Ford II Honors Program.

Please note that Transfer Bridges is designed for students to successfully transfer and continue their studies at U-M Ann Arbor, but students are not required to apply to or attend U-M. Also, while the program is recommended over four semesters, the program components at HFC are flexible if a student wishes to undertake his/her studies over a longer time period.
