Study Skills: Learn How to Study Effectively

HFC Assisted Learning Services (ALS) and the Learning Lab will present a workshop called “Study Skills: Learn How to Study Effectively” on Friday, February 20, from noon to 1:30 p.m.
You can attend this workshop in-person in Room A-200 on the second floor of the Learning Success Center (LSC) (Building A on the main campus) or via Zoom. HFC biology instructor Hollie Tugwell will facilitate this workshop.
This workshop offers you effective study strategies proven to aid student success. You will learn new skills in utilizing your course materials (textbooks and online study resources), active reading, note-taking, and time management.
You will also learn how to:
- Reduce mental overload when learning and applying information.
- Utilize active reading and note-taking strategies to help you stay engaged, make sure you understand the material, and retain information.
- Organize course tasks and assignments into manageable steps with planning strategies to boost motivation, reduce stress, and handle other responsibilities effectively.
