November is National Men’s Health Awareness Month, first established in 1994. HFC is committed to supporting the health and well-being of its community.

Every year, millions of men face the reality of living with a serious physical or mental illness (i.e., various types of cancer, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, depression, anxiety, and so on). November is a time to raise awareness for men living with some type of illness and to help reduce the stigma so many experience relating to mental health issues.

National Men's Health Awareness month is crucial because men are less likely than women to seek out preventive care and often face health disparities. By raising awareness and encouraging healthy behaviors, we can improve the health and well-being of the men around us.

The purpose of National Men’s Health Awareness Month is to:

  • Promote early detection and treatment of men's health conditions.
  • Encourage men to engage in healthy behaviors.
  • Reduce stigma surrounding mental health or other health issues.

The following are resources HFC has available to assist our community.
