HFC Facility team members complete milestone certifications
Three members of HFC Facility Services recently completed a significant OSHA 30 training program: Director of Facilities Reuben Brukley, Facilities Construction and Project Manager Tanusree Coomar, and Facility Engineer for Health and Safety Jay Stogiera.
OSHA 30 is a 30-hour training designed to provide workers and supervisors with a comprehensive understanding of workplace safety and health hazards. It focuses on the construction industry and general industry.
The program covers a wide range of topics, including hazard recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention, as well as workers' rights and employer responsibilities. This training helps workers identify and mitigate potential hazards. It also demonstrates a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Completing an OSHA 30 program results in a Department of Labor card, which is often required or preferred by employers, particularly in supervisory or safety-focused roles.
All three HFC facilities employees earned the following:
- Brukley and Stogiera are certified OSHA 30 – General Industry
- Coomar is certified OSHA 30 – Construction Safety
“Knowledge is the best personal protective equipment,” said Coomar. “We’re ready to build safer workplaces.”
“I am proud of Tanusree and Jay for their respective accomplishments,” said Brukley. “It’s a great professional certification for both of them personally and a great value to the College’s facilities efforts.”
