HFC offers Coding and Creating with Drones program
Register today for the Coding and Creating with Drones program
HFC will offer a new 7-week program called Coding and Creating with Drones, which runs Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning Monday, October 6, and ending Wednesday, November 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Location TBA.
This introductory program uses iOS-based platforms to promote STEM literacy through hands-on experiences that spark creativity, critical thinking, and technical skills.
“Students will explore the connections between coding, drones, and digital design in mobility, aerospace, and technology careers,” said HFC Workforce Development Program Manager Cassandra Myers. “This program provides a rare opportunity to explore new and emerging fields, empowering students with future-ready skills.”
Program highlights include:
- Drone Coding and Flight: Learn block-based coding and Swift scripting to control drones.
- App Development: Customize a Swift-based drone control app (UI/UX + functionality).
- 3D Printing and Design: Model and print custom drone components.
- Aerial Storytelling: Capture and edit drone footage for creative projects.
- Drone Safety and Certification: Earn your FAA TRUST Certification and master drone safety.
- Career-Ready Skills: Learn about technical, design, and problem-solving skills valued in aerospace, mobility, and digital design industries.
HFC, the Global Epicenter of Mobility, and SEMCA Michigan Works! are sponsoring this program, which is open to anyone aged 17 and older. No previous expertise is needed. Scholarships are available for qualifying individuals. Limited seats are available, so register today at the link above.
