HFC and Lawrence Technological University will present Immersive Learning Experiences on Friday, Sept. 30, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on the HFC campus in Room J-110 of the Science Building (Bldg. J on the main campus).

(Please be aware that there is a major high school recruiting event taking place across the entire HFC campus on the same day, so you will want to arrive a bit early to find a place to park and walk over to the room for the Immersive Learning Experiences event.)

Why you should attend Immersive Learning Experiences

LTU has been working to move from traditional lecture-based learning into education informed by exciting and eye-opening research experiences. This approach means you will learn through scientific experiments done in the classroom. This style of teaching and immersive learning can lead to scientific discoveries and new knowledge.

“Take a sip from MiCUP”

The Michigan College/University Partnership (MiCUP) is a program from the King-Chavez-Parks Initiative that Michigan's Department of Labor and Economic Growth established in 2000. This program gives Michigan's most educationally underrepresented citizens an opportunity to complete college degrees, often in STEM fields, and get good jobs.

LTU will offer MiCUP workshops during the spring and summer 2023 semesters in:

  • Computational Biology
  • Forensic Science
  • Media Studies
  • Molecules in Medicine
  • Neurophysiology
  • Virtual Reality

The Immersive Learning Experiences event is free and open to all HFC students. For questions or more information, contact Dr. Sibrina Collins at scollins@ltu.edu.
