Give the Gift of Reading this holiday season
Since 1989, the HFC Federation of Teachers, Local 1650, has been providing books to children through the annual Gift of Reading Campaign between now and Friday, Dec. 9.
After two years of collecting funds for Focus: HOPE’s Center for Children, Local 1650 is collecting and distributing new, unwrapped books for children of all ages. The Center for Children serves children from infancy through age 5 on-site, but books for older children will be sent home for siblings and friends where they can be shared at holiday events.
Students may also contribute to the Gift of Reading Campaign. HFC instructors should feel free to share this information with students, according to HFC English instructor Angela Hathikhanavala, the Gift of Reading co-chair.
