As part of National Apprenticeship Week, HFC will host a Career Exploration event called “Demystifying Apprenticeships” Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Community Rooms of the Welcome Center (Bldg. WC).

About “Demystifying Apprenticeships”

The purpose of “Demystifying Apprenticeships” is to educate attendees about apprenticeships and offer the opportunity to connect with companies that offer apprenticeships and job opportunities.

The companies that have been invited to attend this event are business partners of HFC’s Trade and Apprentice department. They provide registered apprenticeship programs with the Department of Labor. These companies also send their apprentices to HFC for related training instruction.

“The goal is to connect current and potential students to companies offering apprenticeships,” said Kenneth E. Nichols, Project Manager of HFC’s School of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Professional Development.

Apprenticeships are a paid path to a high-paying career

The 8th annual National Apprenticeship Week will be Nov. 14-20. It is a nationwide celebration established by the Department of Labor where industry, equity, workforce, education, and government leaders host events to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship for rebuilding our economy, advancing racial and gender equity, building a pipeline to good quality jobs, and supporting underserved communities.

National Apprenticeship Week is an opportunity to highlight how Registered Apprenticeship, a proven and industry-driven training model, provides a critical talent pipeline that can help to address some of our nation’s pressing workforce challenges, such as rebuilding our country’s infrastructure, addressing critical supply chain demands, supporting a clean energy workforce, modernizing our cybersecurity response, and responding to care economy issues.

This event is free and open to the public. For questions or more information, contact Nichols at kenichols@hfcc.edu.
