Detroit Summer Bridge program at HFC starts June 21
From Monday, June 21, through Saturday, Aug. 21, the Detroit Collage Access Network (DCAN) and Detroit Drives Degrees are hosting the first Detroit Summer Bridge Program for students who graduated from any Detroit high school (public or charter) in 2021, and who will be attending HFC, Wayne State University, or Oakland University in the Fall 2021 semester. The Detroit Summer Bridge program is free and will be virtual (online).
Students can earn 3-4 free college credits upon completion of the Detroit Summer Bridge Program, as well as get support through the transition between high school and college. Financial stipends will also be available upon completion.
Students will enroll in SPC 131: Fundamentals of Public Speaking at HFC, a 3 credit course that will be offered online this summer. (NOTE: If you have already completed SPC 131 through a dual enrollment program, the Summer Bridge program will consider placement in a writing or English course).
Interested? Remember, this program is free of cost to you.
The application takes just a few minutes to complete, and includes expectations for success in the bridge program.
