Inviting volunteers to help? Volunteer form is now required

HFC logo

If you are inviting volunteers to assist with or chaperone any HFC classes, events, or activities involving students, the volunteers are required to fill out the HFC Volunteer Form, which authorizes the College to use the Michigan State Police Internet Criminal History Tool (ICHAT) to obtain a conviction-only history file search. This file search will verify whether the volunteer has any criminal convictions on their record, which might disqualify them from being able to volunteer at HFC.

Please return the completed and signed form to HFC Human Resources in advance of any volunteer activity.

The volunteer's signature must be witnessed by an HFC employee or HR staff member, and must be accompanied by a photocopy of the volunteer's driver's license (or equivalent document if they do not have a license).

HFC employees who volunteer on campus do not need to use the form, as employees have already completed a background check.

Any questions, contact hr@hfcc.edu.
