Thank you to everyone who has participated in the Mandated Accessibility Training! As of August 19, 389 employees have completed the training and passed the Accessibility Policy Quiz.

If you have not completed the training, we urge you to do so as soon as possible. The Office of Civil Rights (OCR) mandates this training, and will determine the deadline for HFC employees to complete the training. The deadline might be as early as Sept. 30, or it might be later in the fall. Once the deadline is announced, we will not be able to modify or extend it.

We need 100% participation from everyone who creates digital content, so please consider completing the training today. It will take approximately 30 minutes.

For Staff:

  1. Login to Access 101 2019 in HFC Online and use the Enrollment Key: Access_101staff.
  2. Read through the first module, and take the quiz.
  3. Once you have passed the quiz at the end of the first module, you have completed the College required portion of training.

Please contact Rachel Ford (raford3@hfcc.edu) if you have any issues getting started in the course.

For Faculty:

  1. Login to Accessibility 101 Faculty in HFC Online
  2. Read through the first module and take the quiz.
  3. Once you have passed the quiz at the end of the first module, you have completed the College required portion of training.

Please contact Victoria Bessette (bessette@hfcc.edu) if you have any issues getting into the course.

You may take the quiz as many times as necessary to achieve an 85% success rate.

Accessibility Task Force created

The Office of Civil Rights has mandated that the College conduct an accessibility audit of our technology systems and services. A group has been charged with conducting the audit and undertaking other accessibility-related tasks. The group has just begun meeting, and will be asking many others on campus to participate and provide assistance in the coming months.

The chair is Rachel Ford.
Other members include:
• Glenn Gaddis, Academic Services
• Maureen Webster, Assisted Learning Service
• Caryne DeMatteo, Legal Services
• Rhonda DeLong, Marketing and Communications

We will provide updates and details as we organize the process for the audit. Questions should be referred to Rachel Ford (raford3@hfcc.edu).
