Faculty members: help our high school recruits as a STAR speaker!

Chef Eric Gackenbach, who's been a STAR Speaker, welcomes high school students on campus to learn about HFC’s Culinary Arts program.

HFC is looking for STAR Speakers!

HFC’s STAR Speaker program is an outreach program that connects full-time and part-time instructors with students in area high schools.

STAR = Supporting partners in transforming students' lives by helping them to achieve academic & career readiness.

Why should you consider the STAR speaker program?

Choosing a field of study or career path can be overwhelming to high school students. HFC’s STAR Speaker program is designed to help high school juniors and seniors explore their options by providing greater insight into academic and career fields that incorporate their interests and skills.

These visits provide students with exposure to career fields and our related academic programs. As a STAR Speaker, you’ll share your own career path, experiences, and the HFC program in which you teach. HFC recruiters will handle all visit coordination and will attend as an additional support.

The time commitment is based on the incoming requests, and your availability. We appreciate any time you’re able to offer to connect with prospective students and enhance our relationships with area schools!
