Employees on a 4-day spring/summer work schedule

Employees working a 4-day work schedule during the spring/summer semester will receive 10 hours of holiday pay for the Memorial Day and July 4th holidays. Hourly employees should report 10 hours of holiday pay for May 28, 2018 and July 4, 2018.

Employees on a 5-day spring/summer work schedule

So that all College employees receive 10 hours of holiday pay per holiday, employees working a 5-day work schedule during the spring/summer semester will receive two (2) additional holiday hours for the Memorial Day and July 4th holidays.

Therefore, employees on a 5-day schedule may leave two (2) hours early at the end of the shift on Friday, May 25, 2018 and two (2) hours early at the end of their shift on Friday, July 6, 2018. The Welcome Center will close early on these days.

Hourly employees on a 5-day schedule should report two (2) hours of holiday pay on Friday, May 25, 2018 and eight (8) hours of holiday pay on Monday, May 28, 2018 for the Memorial Day holiday. If you have scheduled vacation on Friday, May 25, you would use six (6) hours of vacation time, rather than the usual eight (8) hours.

For the July 4th holiday, hourly employees should report eight (8) hours of holiday pay on July 4, 2018 and two (2) hours of holiday pay on Friday, July 6, 2018. If you have scheduled vacation on Friday, July 6, you would use six (6) hours of vacation rather than the usual eight (8) hours.

Vacation and Personal Business time

Per collective bargaining agreements, employees may not use personal business time in conjunction with a holiday. If you wish to extend your holiday break, you will need to use vacation time, which must be arranged with your supervisor in advance.
