Now hiring: Inside Track mentors for Winter 2019

Inside Track logo

Inside Track, a student-to-student mentoring program at HFC, pairs experienced students (mentors) with new students (mentees). The goal is to provide guidance and support to the mentees as they navigate HFC.

The program is well underway for the Fall 2018 Semester with six knowledgeable mentors and nearly 150 mentees. Inside Track is gearing up to hire four new mentors for the Winter 2019 Semester.

A training program for the mentors allows them to act as liaisons between their mentees and HFC resources. Mentors field questions from their mentees on a wide range of topics – from academic support services, to campus clubs and activities, to questions about registration and other administrative topics. Mentors show mentees around campus and help them make the transition to college as smooth as possible.

If you are a student interested in becoming a mentor, you must have at least 24 completed credit hours; a 2.8 GPA or higher. You should be energetic, friendly, and like to help others. Please contact counselor Mary Kosmalski at insidetrack@hfcc.edu or call 313-845-9772. Any student interested in a little extra support and guidance can become a mentee at any time using the same contact information.
