Fri, 11/02/2018 - 9:00am to 12:00pm

Rosenau Board Rooms, Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative & Services Conference Center (ASCC) (Building L)

HFC will host a Pre-Education Program University Transfer Advising Session for Pre-Education Program majors Friday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. until noon in the Rosenau Rooms, located on the first floor of the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services & Conference Center (ASCC) (Bldg. L).

The purpose of this session is to assist HFC Pre-Education students with transfer options and help them decide which 4-year college or university is best-suited for them and their career aspirations upon graduating from HFC.

Attendees at the Fall 2018 University Pre-Education Program Transfer Advising session are as follows:
• Alma College
• Eastern Michigan University (EMU)
• Madonna University
• Oakland University
• Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU)
• Siena Heights University (SHU)
• University of Detroit Mercy (UDM)
• University of Michigan – Dearborn (UM-Dearborn)
• Wayne State University

As a reminder, HFC has established a University Center with EMU, SHU, and Madonna on the third floor of HFC’s Welcome Center (Bldg. WC) on the main campus. HFC’s agreement with these three universities represents enhanced educational opportunities for HFC students to complete their associate degree at HFC and then complete their undergraduate degree from one of these three universities on HFC’s campus.

Some of the benefits of HFC’s partnerships with these three universities are as follows:
• Undergraduate and graduate classes offered at HFC
• Availability of evening, weekend, and hybrid classes
• Personalized advising
• Transfer-friendly policies and guarantees

Students need to dress professionally and should bring a copy of their transcript(s) – official or unofficial. They also need to bring nine 3x5 index cards that contain their name, contact information (phone number, email address, home address), as well as their area(s) of educational interest on these cards.

This event is free and open to those interested in pre-education. For questions or further information, contact Dr. Patricia Lanzon, HFC Pre-Education Director and education professor, at 313-317-1532 or planzon@hfcc.edu.
