HFCC faculty named Firefighter of the Year by Trenton!

The City of Trenton, Mich., recently named HFCC Adjunct Faculty Member Robert Bruley as FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR!  The presentation of this prestigious award took place at a Civic Commission Awards presentation Jan. 15, 2011. 

Bruley has served HFCC as an adjunct faculty member in the EMS Department for 14 years and the City of Trenton Fire Department for 20 years. Previously, he served in the US Navy for six years.  Following his naval duty, he returned to EMS and became a licensed EMS educator for the state of Michigan at the paramedic level.  Currently, he contributes to local EMS progress by serving as a fire department appointee for continuous quality improvement to the local EMS system/hospital emergency management system (HEMS).  He is also the co-chair of the HEMS Operations Committee, which is responsible for EMS protocol development and review among other responsibilities.  As a cross-trained paramedic, he is also employed by Kalitta Medflight, an international fix-wing air medical service.  He is also national presenter and an expert in his field, and has a combined 30 years of total service to EMS and firefighting.
