Henry Ford College Strategic Plan Initiative

Transfer Experience

More than half of the students who enroll at HFC each year intend to transfer to a 4-year college or university, earning a credential at HFC along the way. This initiative will build and improve bridges to the institutions that HFC students most frequently transfer and establish a Transfer Center at HFC to provide comprehensive transfer advising services to ensure seamless transfer experiences. The creation of 2+2+2 academic and career pathways will help more area high school students attain post-secondary credentials that seamlessly lead to high-demand, family-sustaining jobs and/or advanced degrees.

Initiative Progress

  • Improve and maintain seamless transfer bridges from HFC to University of Michigan-Dearborn, Wayne State University, and Eastern Michigan University with guaranteed admission based on established criteria.
  • Create clear and accessible 2+2+2 academic and career pathways from 11th Grade (Collegiate Academy) through HFC (certificate/associate degree) to bachelor’s degree attainment. (In progress)
