HFC works to develop and steward relationships with the diverse communities in our region to provide evidence of the benefits HFC offers to these communities. A goal is to increase enrollment of underrepresented students, while also continuing strong enrollment among all students who choose HFC as their first-choice College.
The Admissions team focuses on community outreach as well as connections in schools, community and civic organizations, adult-focused support organizations, and faith-based organizations.
Initiative Progress
- Hire new Director of Admissions and Recruiting.
- Hire Adult Student Recruiter and focus on adult recruiting opportunities.
- Improve and realign how we focus our recruiting around specific target audiences. (In progress)
- Engage bilingual recruiter in communities with large Hispanic population. (In progress)
- Use community-based model to inform recruitment for Black/African American students. (In progress)
