Hybrid classes - partly online and partly in person

In a hybrid class, you will engage in both online learning and required face-to-face learning in a classroom or lab.

What to expect:

  • Face-to-face meetings that provide student-instructor interaction.
  • Online materials that are primarily independent learning.
  • The ratio of online to face-to-face learning can vary. Typically, it will be one of the following:
    • up to 49% online, with more than half the class required on-campus,
    • 50%-75% online with occasional on-campus requirements as specified by your instructor,
    • up to 95% online, with limited on-campus requirements for exams or assessments.

Consult your class syllabus to determine how much of your class will be online and how much will be on campus. In most hybrid classes, the on-campus requirements are required at specific times and are not negotiable.
