For Faculty
With the help of Career Services, faculty members can stay up-to-date on current job market statistics, request guest speakers, and prepare students for their transition to the job market.
Hand in Hand
The Career Services team is here to help you help your students. Partnerships between faculty, staff, and Career Services can combine our strengths and resources to benefit students.
Faculty and staff are often asked to help students make decisions about majors or careers. The rapidly changing work world has been affected by technology and changes to the global economy. Keeping up with the vast quantity of information that affects the world of work is difficult. Career Services can help.
Stay up to date on Career Services events by logging in to HFC Handshake or by viewing the HFC events calendar. In Handshake, you can set up job alerts for your field and also be notified about upcoming events that may affect you and your students.
Help your students succed in whatever program they pursue by sharpening their soft (interpersonal) skills. Below is an easy Soft Skills Assessment for students. This could be used for co-op students, on campus student workers, or a classes at the beginning or end of the semester.
Advisory Committee Participation
Career Services would like to have a representative from your program attend our Advisory Committee Meetings every semester. These meetings are a great opportunity for Career Services to learn more about your program and what we can do to assist your graduating students in getting jobs.
It is also a chance to network with professionals in the field and show them how HFC can assist them with their staffing/recruiting needs. In addition, it allows us to share with you what is going on in our office, and how we can collaborate to better serve students.

The Forage - Students can tackle real-world assignments for name brand companies. Employers have set up a work experience that mirrors what actually happens within their organization. These experiences range from 2-13 hours, averaging 5-6 hours. They are all virtual and free. Students can choose from a number of experiences and filter by career interest or specific employer. HFC students and faculty may find them useful to either work through as a class or offer as individual extra credit.
