The College will update this information at least ten calendar days prior to the start of each fall and spring semester (i.e., twice each year), and typically within 14 days of a finding of responsibility for hazing behavior. The College will maintain the information for seven years following the date of initial disclosure.
There have been no reportable acts of Hazing at Henry Ford College.
The Campus Hazing Transparency Report includes:
- the name of the student organization,
- date the behavior was reported to the College,
- dates of the investigation,
- when the organization was found responsible,
- a general description of the violation(s),
- whether hazing involved the abuse or illegal use of alcohol or drugs, key dates (when hazing took place [if known], start/end of investigation, when student organization was notified of outcome),
- the findings for the determination of responsibility, and the sanctions imposed.
Reports of hazing that did not result in a finding of responsibility are not included.
Under Section 485(f) of the Higher Education Act (HEA) of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1092(f)), Information provided in the report will not include personally identifiable information about specific individuals.
Any student organizations under active investigation will not appear on the Campus Hazing Transparency Report until the conclusion of the investigation (and findings of responsibility).
Annual Security Report
Annual statistics on hazing are available in the College’s Campus Safety Annual Security Report.
Please note that hazing statistics will be included beginning with the 2025 report (issued on Oct 1, 2026). Hazing statistics include incident reports that meet the federal definition of hazing in Section 485(f)(6)(A) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C 1092(f)(6)(A)). Such statistics do not reflect actual findings of hazing behavior, which are included in the Campus Hazing Transparency Report.
How Hazing is investigated
The procedure for investigating a hazing incident will follow the College's Student Code of Conduct Procedures.
If an employee of the College is found responsible for hazing, the College will initiate an investigation that follows the Standards of Conduct and Civility procedures.
The College strictly prohibits participation in hazing activities by any party, regardless of the existence of consent. Hazing activities do not contribute to the positive development or welfare of students. The College recognizes the act of hazing as illegal, irresponsible, intolerable and inconsistent with the principles of higher education and basic human development.
