Help HFC obtain a grant to assist student veterans by taking a 20-minute, interactive online training module.

The new Veterans on Campus online training module will enhance your understanding, competence, and comfort with speaking to student veterans about their lives, successes, challenges, and goals. It will also help you make sure you know when, how, and where to refer veterans for different kinds of assistance.

To reach our goal and obtain the grant, HFC needs just 77 more faculty or staff members to complete the module: 77 (faculty + staff) x 20 minutes = $500 student veterans grant!

How to participate:

  1. Visit https://www.kognitocampus.com/login.
  2. Click to create a new personalized account using the enrollment key michiganvets.
  3. Be sure to complete the module fully, receiving a completion certification at the end, to ensure your participation is logged toward the challenge grant initiative.

Background

The Michigan Center for Student Success (MCSS) facilitated a three-year grant from The Kresge Foundation to support the activities of the Consortium of Michigan Veterans Educators (CMVE) to maximize success for military-connected students. Our agreement with Kognito for Veterans on Campus access at HFC is valid through June 2018. Reaching the HFC target of 147 completions allows us to receive a $500 pass-thru grant in support of our military-connected student population.

Currently, just over 40 HFC faculty and staff have completed the module. Accessing the training is simple, and it only takes 20 (or 30, if you want to experiment more) minutes to complete the module from your computer as described above.
