Silent Witness exhibit; training and empowerment tools

The Silent Witness exhibit is a compelling, powerful representation of the victims of domestic and sexual violence. The exhibit comes to the HFC campus on Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24, at the Student and Culinary Arts Center.

The exhibit is intended to empower, support, and provide resources to the HFC community about sexual assualt, sexual harassment, and domestic violence.

On Tuesday, April 24, the Michigan Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence will provide training and empowerment tools to help students, staff, faculty and community members learn about

  1. Misperceptions about who is impacted by sexual assault/harassment and domestic violence,
  2. Misunderstandings of affirmative consent,
  3. The impact of intersectionalities between sexual violence and its impact on specific populations, including DACA students and the LGBTQ+ community

The training and empowerment presentation will be hosted twice:

April 24, 1:00 to 2:00
April 24, 2:30 to 3:30
Both presentations are in Room K-14 in the Liberal Arts Building
All events are free and open to the public.

The exhibit and the training are co-sponsored by the Compliance and Title IX office and Student Activities office.
