“Choosing a Career” Workshop March 27

Monday, March 10, 2014

HFCC will host “Choosing a Career” workshop on Thursday, March 27, from 5 to 6 p.m. in Rm. 121 of the Student Success Center (formerly called the Learning Resource Center) on the main campus. This event is part of the College’s “Secrets to Academic Success” series held each year.

Dr. Brenda Hildreth, HFCC coordinator of Student Outreach and Support, will facilitate this workshop. Hildreth will assess the life mission of the participants. From there, she will explore their values, natural abilities and their interests. Participants will also complete a brief career assessment profile. Hildreth notes that when students have a career path set, they perform better in classes because they have a direction and are more focused on their goals.

“At the end of the hour, each participant will have one or two careers suggested for them to investigate further. We will cover a lot ground in that hour,” said Hildreth.

This workshop is free and open to the public. If you plan to attend or need further information, please contact Hildreth at 313.845.9757.
