Study Abroad Program in Morocco!
HFCC – in collaboration with the Arab American Foundation for Multicultural Education and Students Understanding (ARAMFO) in Denver – will launch a new study abroad course, ART 290, in Morocco June 17-30 for the spring 2014 semester.
ART 290 is a three-credit course taught by Dr. Hashim Al-Tawil of HFCC’s Division of Humanities and Social Sciences. This course will focus on visiting, studying, and analyzing certain architectural monuments in Morocco. It is open to HFCC students, as well as community members and non-HFCC students enrolled in an art history or humanities program at an accredited four-year college/university. Non-HFCC students and community members who take ART 290 for no credit or audit the class will be charged an additional $100. Enrollment is limited to no more than 30 people.
Travelers will leave Tuesday, June 17, and return Monday, June 30. They will travel to six cities in Morocco: Rabat, Marrakesh, Casablanca, Meknes, Fes and Tangier. ARAMFO will subsidize 50 percent of the cost of the trip, where every traveler pays only $3,200. This amount covers round-trip airfare from JFK Airport in New York to Rabat and back; 14 nights in hotels in Morocco; three meals a day; and transportation.
Travelers are responsible for transportation from Michigan to New York’s JFK Airport. Tuition for ART 290 is NOT included in the $3,200.
