SSA hosts soul food luncheon Feb. 20

Peach cobbler egg rolls are one of the many delicacies that will be served at the SSA soul food luncheon Feb. 20.

In honor of Black History Month, the HFC Support Staff Association (SSA) will host a soul food luncheon Thursday, Feb. 20, from noon to 2:00 p.m. in the East Community Room in the Welcome Center (Bldg. WC).

The menu will include:

  • Fried and baked chicken
  • Collard greens
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Candied yams
  • Rolls
  • Peach cobbler egg rolls
  • Lemonade or fruit punch

There will be a quiz at the end of the luncheon, and the prize will be a copy of Becoming by former First Lady Michelle Obama. There will also be a raffle (you're automatically entered with purchase) for the book We're Going to Need More Wine by actress/activist Gabrielle Union (Being Mary Jane, L.A.'s Finest).

Carryout trays will be available for those who need a to-go plate. The cost to attend is $12/person. Please send your payment to Joyce Stukel in the Financial Aid Office in the Welcome Center.
