Managing Stress and Reducing COVID-19 Anxiety workshop

The HFC Student Activities Office (SAO); Counseling Office; Campus Safety; Student Council; and Office of Student Conduct, Compliance and Title IX are co-sponsoring the Managing Stress and Reducing COVID-19 Anxiety Workshop that will be held virtually on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 3:00 p.m.

The event is free and requires advance registration.

Todd Denny – an author, national speaker, trainer, and social worker – will facilitate this workshop. Denny has conducted more than 1,000 lectures, training seminars, and educational workshops across the nation at colleges, universities, and a variety of community settings.

Learning how to manage stress levels

Many of us are under increasing pressure as public fear and anxiety are on the rise. How do we manage our anxiety? How can we support yourselves and remain calm and centered amidst such uncertainty?

This workshop will be interactive, and you will learn a variety of mindfulness skills to manage stress levels and reduce anxiety caused by fear and worry. In this workshop, you will learn a variety of coping skills, including:

  • Ways to reduce your current stress level
  • Skills to recover from anxiety, worry, depression
  • How to stay calm amidst turmoil
  • “Understanding the Brain: The Ultimate Source of Power Is within You”
