Social Venture Challenge competition Jan. 6-7

Event Date:
Thu, 02/06/2020 to Fri, 02/07/2020
Resolution Fellowship group of students

H FC will host a Social Venture Challenge (SVC) with the Resolution Project at the College Feb. 6-7, 2020 for the first time.

The SVC is a business plan-style competition designed to inspire college students to propose solutions to pressing social issues.

This competition is open to not just HFC students, but all undergraduate students in the state of Michigan. The SVC will attract talented and idealistic leaders, giving undergraduate students who are looking to make an impact in their communities a Resolution Fellowship opportunity.

The Resolution Fellowship comes with everything needed to take an idea from conception to reality:

  • seed funding
  • mentorship
  • networking
  • resources
  • access to a community of like-minded peers

For this competition, students need to develop an idea to address a community or societal need, with a proposed solution on how to alleviate it.
Entrants will pitch Thursday, Feb. 6.
Finalists will compete on a panel Friday, Feb. 7.

The application deadline has passed, but the public is invited to attend the competition.

Attend the Student Engagement Conference, held concurrently with the Social Venture Challenge competition. This is a FREE, public event featuring Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson.
