The Democracy Institute Consortium at HFC is hosting First Lt. Piotr M. Zagorowski, PhD of the United States Army Corps of Engineers Europe (USAREUR) Monday, Dec. 10, from 2:40 to 4:00 p.m. at the Michael Berry Amphitheater in the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services & Conference Center (ASCC) (Bldg. L).
Dr. Anthony Perry, HFC political science professor, invited Zagorowski to speak at HFC.
“Resetting the European Theater”
Zagorowski’s lecture is called “Resetting the European Theater.” In it, he is using publicly available data to look at the threat assessment in Europe and develop strategies to address the new reality in a post-Cold War Europe. He will also talk about how the U.S. military plays a role in keeping peace and stability throughout the region.
Dr. Piotr M. Zagorowski
Zagorowski currently serves as the USAREUR’s Deputy of the Commanders Initiatives Group, 21st Theater Sustainment Command. He earned his PhD in international relations/world politics at the Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, CA; his graduate degree in peace and conflict studies from Wayne State University in Detroit; and his undergraduate degree in political science from James Madison College at Michigan State University (MSU) in East Lansing. In fact, when Perry taught at Wayne State, Zagorowski was his student.
