What courses will I take?
Power and Trades Pathways courses will enable you to develop skills across the construction, electrical and gas skilled trades. Your individual course plan may vary, depending on your career goals and requirements.
If attending full time, any of the certificates can be completed in one year.
What if I'm not sure which career pathway to choose?
If you don't know which energy career most interests you, start by completing the Core Certificate. This Certificate ensures you are meeting your required coursework while you explore specific career options. After completing the Certificate, you will be able to pursue any of the available energy career paths.

Power and Trades Pathways Pre-Apprenticeship: Electrical Transmission and Distribution Technology
You must take the Core Certificate classes, plus:
- Substation Operation and Maintenance
- Customer Service
- Electric Field Service Metering
- Underground Distribution
- Overhead Distribution
Electrical Engineering Technology Associate Degree
Interested in a career that follows a different path? Pursue an associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
Individuals earning this 65-credit-hour associate degree can look forward to career opportunities such as a Power Equipment Relay Technician, Associate Engineer, Cable Tester, and more.
