A Message From The President
Welcome to Henry Ford College (HFC), which has been a beacon for academic excellence in southeast Michigan since 1938. HFC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and the Michigan Commission on College Accreditation (MCCA).
It is an exciting time to be at HFC. During the past two years, we launched our first four-year degree program in Culinary Arts & Hotel/Restaurant Management, and we launched an associate degree in Supply Chain Management (SCM) and a SCM Technician Certificate through our Business and Computer Technology Division. In addition, we’ve launched a new Recording Arts Certificate (RAC) program through our Social Sciences, Arts and Fitness Division.
HFC enjoys strong University Center partnerships with Eastern Michigan University (EMU), Siena Heights University (SHU), and Madonna University (with more partnerships in the works) on campus. Through these partnerships, we provide students with the opportunity to complete their first two to three years of college at HFC and then remain on campus to finish their four-year degrees at one of our partner universities. Not only does this make the transfer process as seamless and efficient as possible, but it also saves plenty of time and money while providing students with the opportunity to complete their education at three of Michigan’s best universities right here in Dearborn.
Students intending to transfer to four-year colleges and universities comprise more than half of HFC’s student body. Students most frequently transfer to EMU, SHU, Madonna, the University of Michigan-Dearborn (U-M Dearborn), the University of Michigan (U-M), Michigan State University (MSU), Wayne State University, Central Michigan University (CMU), Western Michigan University (WMU), and Walsh College. You can transfer to literally any accredited four-year college or university. Additionally, HFC offers Reverse Transfer Agreements (RTA) with several Michigan-based universities. RTAs allow students to transfer back credits earned at these participating universities so that they may be awarded an associate degree after leaving HFC.
HFC has been the gateway to higher education for thousands of students seeking affordable, high-quality post-secondary education. The faculty and staff have redoubled their efforts to make this fine institution one of the best in the state of Michigan. Our goal is to ensure that all students achieve success in their academic and professional careers, and in their lives. Simply put, we want to live mission and our vision to become a student’s “First Choice, Best Choice” when deciding which college to attend.
Our efforts to make HFC a FutureDriven educational institution would not be possible if not for all of our friends, supporters, alumni, faculty, staff, community partners, and the Board of Trustees. Thank you, one and all, for all of your unswerving support. Feel free to contact me at 313-845-9650 or email@example.com. We look forward to seeing you on campus.
