PTA 254 Spinal Orthopedics

Extremity Orthopedics is one of the third semester courses that allows students to expand on knowledge and skills gained in the previous year as they learn how specific pathologies and injuries present for the patients they will treat as a PTA. They will learn in a classroom lab and clinical setting a variety of treatment techniques specific for a number of patient conditions. They will also learn how and when to progress patients throughout the continuum of care.

Presents the etiology, course, prognosis, medical intervention, and treatment of orthopedic conditions of the spine. Covers physical therapy intervention. Guided lab setting.
