Carole Sloan, Ph.D.
Dr. Sloan has an undergraduate degree in Physical Education and a Master Degree in Exercise Physiology from Georgia State University. In 2014, she received her Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology with a cognate in Nutrition from Wayne State University. She recently received a grant from the HFC student technology fund to establish an exercise science laboratory which will contribute significantly to an improved learning experience for students at HFC. The lab provides “hands-on” activities for directly measuring maximum oxygen uptake (considered the gold standard of cardiorespiratory endurance), lactate threshold (point at which lactate begins to accumulate and often used as a guide for exercise prescription) and respiratory quotient (measures the primary fuel source during exercise). Dr. Sloan is committed to success for her students and believes there is no better place to meet your career goals than at Henry Ford College.
