Why should I choose this program?

The interconnections of public safety and freedom in our democratic society largely depend on the quality and professionalism of our criminal justice professionals. Our increasingly diverse communities call for highly trained individuals who are committed to community service. We need criminal justice professionals who see themselves as a part of the larger community they serve. And recognize that, “The police are the people, and the people are the police.” - Sir Robert Peel.

If you enroll in our program, you will be challenged by a curriculum centered on the history and philosophy of the criminal justice system. You will engage in continuous dialogue with current and former criminal justice professionals while critically assessing criminal justice agencies, laws impacting criminal justice functions, and aspects focused on becoming culturally competent while engaging community members.
