The Office of Research and Planning has, as its primary mission, the collection of data (from both internal and external sources), and the analysis, distribution, and presentation of this information for use in planning, decision-making, and policy formulation at Henry Ford Community College. The Office is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of vital college statistics and for reporting these data to a broad spectrum of constituents. A function of the Office is to respond to diverse requests for data from members of the College community, and to assist personnel in other units with research and assessment methodology, evaluation, and analysis.
The Office of Research and Planning has principal responsibility for the planning process of the College. The Office also facilitates the assessment of student learning. It is responsible for reporting on outcomes of student learning projects and major survey research projects for student satisfaction and graduate tracking. The Office has access to and is responsible for reporting from the College databases (Datatel, Colleague) and supporting the College's primary reporting software (WebFocus). The Office oversees the creation, maintenance, and distribution of over 300 reports to faculty, staff and administrators.
