Telecommunication

Telecommunication simply defined is a means of sending a message from one point to another. The field is one of the most rapidly growing and changing industries in the U.S. and one of the most fascinating. If you're interested in working in advertising, public relations, journalism or program production and management in radio, television, film and multimedia the HFCC associate in arts degree offers training in areas that will prepare you for your career.
You'll learn a broad range of skills including digital audio and video editing, media writing and performance, audio and video production, broadcast journalism and film history and criticism.
Both classroom academic knowledge and creative skills are combined with real-world assignments and experience to provide a solid foundation for the completion of a four-year mass communication degree at a transfer institution. HFCC houses its own campus radio and Internet broadcast station to provide real-world experience in the field. Click on the link to your left entitled "WHFR-FM" to learn more about this exciting, cutting edge facility and how you can get involved. HFCC also hosts its own cable television channel where students' writing and production work, created in our on-campus facilities, is frequently showcased.
