Full Circle Dance Company
Who We Are
The Full Circle Dance Company consists of dancers from all over metro Detroit. Dancers who attend other colleges come to HFCC for opportunities they can’t get at their own school. And the dance company is a great experience for high school juniors and seniors who are often getting their first chance to be in a real dance company. The company is also open to any area resident with general dance background.
What We Learn
Being a student of the dance is about more than performing. At HFCC we’re teaching about dance and how to dance, history and technique. Full Circle dancers have the opportunity to take master classes with and perform choreography created by guest artists from some of the great dance companies of the world, among them the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, the Eliot Feld Ballet Company and Maria del Carmen’s Grupo Espana. Dancers also work with the most noted names in dance from throughout Michigan, including members of the Eisenhower Dance Ensemble.
Where We Perform
Full Circle dancers perform in a full slate of appearances, including the spring concert (with live music provided by HFCC music department) and an annual trip to the American College Regional Dance Festival which takes place at different host colleges. At the Festival, students have dances adjudicated, take master classes, attend dance concerts and perform.
The company also performs for local high schools and at HFCC events such as banquets and the annual GlobeFest celebration.
How to Audition
Auditions are held year-round for the company, with group auditions conducted twice a year and individual auditions by appointment. (See contact information below.)

Academic Requirements
Participants in the company must apply for admission to HFCC. (Simply fill out an application at the Registrar’s Office in the Learning Resources Center or apply online.) Dance company participants don’t need to be a full-time HFCC student but do receive three college credits for each semester they participate.
The Dance Companies of Full Circle Dance
Dancers can appear with one of two companies. Company A consists of performers with strong dance background while Company B is an apprentice program for those with little dance background.
Members of the Full Circle Dance Company are ambassadors for HFCC in the community, representing the quality programs and activities available at the college.
Full Circle Dance Company Mission
The mission of the company and dance program at HFCC is to provide a comprehensive quality education and a broad spectrum of performance experiences in various genres.
Equal emphasis is placed on ballet, jazz, modern, tap, ballroom and folk derivatives. The dance ensemble seeks to encourage creativity and individual expression; improve skill levels; and inspire independent, well-rounded and resourceful dance students.
