Whether you are a first-time potter or interested in becoming a professional studio potter, the Ceramics program offers a wide selection of courses. In introductory classes students learn hand-building and wheel-construction methods, then advance to specialized studies.

Students pursuing a degree explore the design and production techniques and aesthetics necessary to be a successful self-employed studio potter. The ceramics program curriculum includes several of the same courses as the art foundation degree but with a heavier concentration in ceramics. These include advanced specialized studies in glazemaking, ceramic scultpture, kiln firing and kiln construction.
