Art Foundation

You don't have to be a "starving artist." Your associate in arts degree from HFFC wil be the first step to an incredible variety of good and interesting jobs.
HFCC’s solid arts foundation program provides you with the first two years toward a bachelor’s degree in art. Eventually you could become an advertising designer, art teacher, art dealer, museum registrar, exhibition coordinator, art therapist, architect, engineer, graphic designer, interior designer and photographer. Your university options could also include the pursuit of dual degrees in both fine arts and another area.
If you’re planning on transferring to a four-year university to complete a BFA the Art Foundation associate degree program should be your preliminary degree. In this program you’ll gain all-around experience in design, drawing, painting, ceramics and art history. You’ll also participate in a graduating student Art Exhibition presented at the Sisson Art Gallery.
After graduating from HFCC you may go on to a bachelor’s degree program at a school of fine arts such as the College for Creative Studies or at a university. Students who receive an associate in arts degree at HFCC frequently transfer to Eastern Michigan University, the University of Michgan – Dearborn and Lawrence Technological University.
