Carnegie Scholar Dr. Nathan J. Brown, internationally known expert on the Middle East and the question of Palestine, will present a special lecture at Henry Ford Community College (Dearborn, Mich.) titled “Islam and Nationalism in Palestine” Wednesday, Dec. 1, 8 p.m., Room L-14, basement of the Liberal Arts (Reuther) Building.

"Inclined to Speak": Hayan Charara

Hayan Charara Introduces His New Anthology of Arab American Poetry "INCLINED TO SPEAK"
Readings will feature the verse of Charara as well as poetry by Alise Alousi and Kevion Gerard Rashid

When: April 1st, 2009 at 12:00 P.M.

About the author: Hayan Charara is the author of two collections of poetry, The Alchemist's Diary and The Sadness of Others. He is a recipient of a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and his award-winning children's book, The Three Lucys, will be published by Lee & Low Books. Born in Detroit to Lebanese immigrants, he lived in New York City for many years before moving to Texas.
