From 1994 to 2004, Dr. Jeffery was vice president of Columbia College in northern California, which enrolls 4,500 students. Dr. Jeffery also worked in the California Community Colleges' Chancellor's Office, the system office for 106 community colleges in the state, first as director of faculty and staff diversity, and then as dean of student services. She has a Ph.D. in educational administration and community college leadership from the University of Texas at Austin.
