HFCC degrees tradition for Dearborn family

To the Shunkwiler family, Henry Ford Community College is more than just a college, it is a tradition. Not only is Dearborn resident Susan Shunkwiler, an HFCC nursing instructor, a graduate, but two of her sons and her husband are as well. Her two sons, David and Sean, graduated earlier this month with associate degrees from HFCC.
HFCC Receives Dearborn Chamber of Commerce Legacy Award

Henry Ford Community College had been honored with the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce Legacy Award. The award was presented at the annual Dearborn Chamber of Commerce Business Recognition Luncheon and Expo held recently at the Ritz Carlton in Dearborn. HFCC President Gail Mee accepted the award at the luncheon.
HFCC Instructor to Participate in United States Institute of Peace Conference

Grosse Pointe Park resident Michael Daher, Henry Ford Community College English instructor and director of HFCC's new Arab Cultural Studies Program, will represent HFCC at a five-day “Global Peace and security in Community Colleges and in the Communities they Serve” conference sponsored by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP). The conference will be held June 3-7 in Washington, D.C.
HFCC announces Innovation of the Year Award

The Henry Ford Early College is the recipient of the 2009 Innovation of the Year award from Henry Ford Community College's Innovation of the Year Project. The award was presented at a recently held ceremony on HFCC's main campus, located at 5101 Evergreen Rd. in Dearborn.

State Representative Gino Polidori and Henry Ford Community College men's basketball coach Abe Mashaur were honored with special awards at HFCC's afternoon commencement last Saturday. State Representative Gino Polidori of Dearborn received the 2009 Distinguished Service Award and coach Abe Mashhour of Dearborn received the 2009 Distinguished Alumni award.
