Henry Ford Community College's (HFCC) Criminal Justice program will offer two new courses in the fall on computer crime. These classes will be held on HFCC's main campus, located at 5101 Evergreen Rd. in Dearborn.

Skylight Cafe food samples at Farmers Market Friday

This Friday, HFCC's Skylight Café, which provides fresh, healthy food choices on campus in HFCC's Student and Culinary Arts Center, will supply free food and beverage samples at the Dearborn Farmers and Artisans Market presented by the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by HFCC. All of the samples will be prepared with fresh local produce. Free recipe cards featuring some of the Skylight Café's signature menu items will also be distributed. HFCC music student Jeremy Palmer will provide musical entertainment.

Henry Ford Community College (HFCC), as sponsor of the Dearborn Farmers and Artisans Market presented by the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce, will offer special activities and information each Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the market, located adjacent to the Bryant Branch Library on Michigan Avenue. The market will be open each Friday through Oct. 30.

Henry Ford Community College's Theater Program presents its summer production, “The Playboy of the Western World,” on select dates from Thursday, Aug. 13 to Sunday, Aug. 23 at the Dearborn Centennial Library, located at 16301 Michigan Avenue, in the library auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students with ID and $6 a seat for groups of 10 or more.
HFCC Plants Butterfly Garden

With the help of Henry Ford Community College biology student Carlie Trabulsy, HFCC recently planted a butterfly garden on its main campus, located at 5101 Evergreen Road in Dearborn. The garden will serve as an outdoor nature lab for science students and a quiet, relaxing spot for students, staff and visitors.

Seven current and former students from Henry Ford Community College's Ceramics Club recently teamed with the Children's Hospital of Michigan and Detroit's Lessenger Middle School to create a community arts project for patients at the hospital as well as for students at the middle school.

Student receives Grainger scholarship

Henry Ford Community College student John Quaine of Brownstown, recipient of a $2,000 Grainger Tools for Tomorrow℠ scholarship from W. W. Grainger, Inc., has now received a $1,000 Westward-brand toolkit upon his graduation from the college's Architecture/Construction Technology (ACT) program.
