Henry Ford Community College will hold two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 9 at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, located at 15801 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn. HFCC President Gail Mee will confer the degrees on the graduates.
HFCC to receive Legacy Award

In recognition of Henry Ford Community College's long-standing service to the community as an educational leader, the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce will bestow its highest honor, the Legacy Award, to HFCC on Friday, May 15 at the annual Dearborn Chamber of Commerce Business Recognition Luncheon and Expo at the Ritz-Carlton Dearborn. The luncheon and expo begins at 11 a.m.

Henry Ford Community College recently held its annual 2009 Scholarship Celebration Breakfast, an event which honors HFCC scholarship recipients and the scholarship donors. More than 500 scholarship recipients were honored at the breakfast.

Golfers who register for Henry Ford Community College's 18th annual Mike Adray Memorial Golf Tournament by Thursday, Apr. 30 will receive a free HFCC fleece pullover. The Mike Adray Memorial Golf Tournament will be played Wednesday, May 20 at the Dearborn Country Club.

In honor of Henry Ford Community College's 70th anniversary, HFCC's English and World Languages Division will present a free reading event for preschool and elementary school aged children and their parents featuring local children's book author Cindy McKinley on Tuesday, Apr. 28 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in HFCC's Child Development Center, located at 5101 Evergreen Road in Dearborn.

The Henry Ford Community College Theater program will present 'The Odyssey,' directed by HFCC theater instructor Gerry Dzuiblinski, Friday, Apr. 17 through Sunday, Apr. 19 and on Wednesday, Apr. 22, Thursday, Apr. 23 and Sunday, Apr. 26 in Studio A of the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, located at 15801 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn. This is a new location for the show.

The Henry Ford Community College Fine Arts and Fitness Division will present the Spring Jazz Concert on Saturday, May 2 at 8 p.m. in HFCC's Adray Auditorium, located in the MacKenzie Fine Arts Center on HFCC's main campus at 5101 Evergreen Rd. in Dearborn. Tickets for the event are $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the door, or can be reserved by contacting Rich Goward at rgoward@hfc.edu.
