Description:

This training will equip a person with the skills needed to work in the
growing area of Residential Weatherization. Through a combination of
classroom instruction and hands on learning the student will learn how
to tighten up a home using proper air sealing methods as well as
learning how to install various kinds of insulation in walls, ceilings
and other areas. In addition, the training will include a brief
introduction to the theory and practice of energy efficiency, including
basics about house construction, heating systems and renewable energy.

The training is designed to both deliver an immediately employable
skill and be the first step on a career pathway into building trades,
energy auditing and other careers that may require further education.
